Fair trade tourism

For the second year, local non-profit group JUDES - Just Us! Development and Education Society- is hosting Mexican eco-adventure tours.

The unique experiences take small groups on 10-day trips from Oaxaca into coastal mountain areas, celebrating local peoples and the environment. Visitors can hike, learn more about local culture, including cooking traditional dishes; and even try their hand picking coffee with their community hosts.

JUDES has established a Reciprocity Fund from the proceeds of trips, which will bring members of its Mexican partner community to Canada to share in a cultural exchange.
